about

Inspired by mystical Erik Satie piano pieces, I wanted to write music that felt both romantic and utilitarian. By asking the listener to “Wake up, open your eyes and reset” my goal was to create an opening movement that signals the daily re-boot which occurs after a night’s sleep, as one rejoins the continuing consciousness of their life. Each day you open your eyes, your mind starts to refocus and become alert, and your day begins. This music is meant to feel as though it could accompany one's daily routine and facilitate a day dream detour. - MH

lyrics

Open Your Eyes
Wake Up
Open your eyes and reset
Don't look down
Don't look down
Don't look down
It's not really there
It's not really there
It's not really there
It's all around

The conversation's in your head
They'll keep talking
Fill your mind with hopes and dreams...
and plans and lists
Talking channels abound
That hum is always there
A piercing vibration
That hum is always there
That hum is always there
Sliding, slowly...
Sliding, slowly...
Drifting uncontrollably...
gaining... losing... momentum

Momentum is bruising.
